When I grow up, I want to live in the 60's

The 1960's have been on my mind sooo much lately. I've been teasing my hair, wearing bubble gum pink lipstick, winged eye liner and dresses that make you want to dance the night away!

I often find myself waking up in the morning (or afternoon! (;), feeling as if I'm from a different time, this can't possibly be 2011! My whole closet and room is filled to the brim with clothing older than myself and my mother!

This past year I have found it almost impossible to go to a shop/store and buy something new off the rack... I feel guilty! What it really comes down to is the fact that I simply enjoy vintage fashion and can't justify spending the money on a new article of clothing that I may not like in a month... I guess what may be old to someone else is completely new and refreshing to me! I absolutely adore my vintage wardrobe. <3

what I wore:
vintage dress, Halloween rack, goodwill
purse, vintage, thrifted
shoes, vintage, etsy
coat, target

In other news, I wanted to say a big HELLOOO!! to all of my new followers. <3 I'm glad to have you here, I hope you stick around !!

& for those of you who don't know... I have a great shop giveaway happening over on selective potential!! I'm offering a $25 gift card to my shop, Huckleberry Vintage! All you have to do is head on over and follow the rules and enter into the giveaway!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!
xo,
Kala Noel.

  2. So lovely. I am one of those new followers and I'm so happy to have found your blog through the Selective Potential giveaway. I definitely agree that once you get your feet wet with vintage and thrifting, it's incredibly hard to buy anything new from a store--for 3-4 times the price or more.

I love your dress. And your shoes! I really want some lower heeled oxford-like shoes.

  4. I feel exactly the same way about shopping for new things, especially when there are such great vintage finds everywhere! It's funny, every time I think of something I really need new, like shoes or a purse or something, it will turn up in the next thrift store I go to. I think the thrift gods are trying to tell me to always shop vintage!
I love this lace dress, it is so pretty on you! And it looks great paired with brown. xx

  7. Hi there, I'm a new follower since finding you via the Selective Potential giveaway... I'm also the one who snatched up that yellow dress, I couldn't even wait to see if I had won, I loved it so much!

  8. I feel the exact same way about shopping at 'new' shops. It rarely occurs to me that what I wear isn't completely normal, and it baffles me that so many people are so satisfied by crappy overpriced made-in-china junk that will be out of fashion in a month. Even if I grow sick of one of my thrifted items, they're never more than $5 anyway!

Anyway, I adore this outfit. I always find the best things on the costume racks, which fits me rather well because people are always asking if I'm dressed to go to a costume party. You look divine, and I especially love your hairstyle.

  10. I know exactly the feeling! I was at the mall the other day, just to pass some time over lunch, and I just couldn't get into the clothes. Some of the stuff was cute, but it was extremely low quality. Not to mention on my way out, I saw two girls wearing the skirts I'd been looking at. Vintage is so much better! Now if only I could go back in time to when these awesome clothes were less difficult to find in my size... Those photos of you sitting in the blossoms are so lovely.
